DELHI: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who faces a triangular
contest from the family pocket borough of Amethi, filed nomination
papers from Amethi on Saturday following a massive roadshow.
Priyanka Vadra and her husband Robert Vadra accompanied Rahul Gandhi
during his 40km-long roadshow from Gauriganj to Amethi collectorate.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi was by her son's side when he filed the
nomination papers.
Responding to queries from reporters, Rahul
Gandhi denied making any personal remark against BJP's prime
ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"I did not make any personal remark. I just said Modi didn't mention his marital status earlier," Gandhi said. The Congress vice president also said that opinion polls will be proved wrong like in 2004 and 2009.
A two-time MP from Amethi, Gandhi is locked in a triangular contest
this time with BJP candidate Smriti Irani and Kumar Vishwas from Aam
Aadmi Party pitted against him.

Ryan has had a difficult childhood
Ryan has had a difficult childhood. He is actually undiagnosed. He
has an unknown medical disorder. They believe it is mitochondrial, so it
affects every part of his body," said Joanne Wirtjes, Ryan's mother.
"It's not great. It's bad," Ryan said about being sick.
"He has a shunt that drains excess fluid from his brain," Joanne Wirtjes said.
He had to go look at his shirt in the mirror right away, so I think he likes it," Town of Sheboygan Fire Chief Joe Stahl said
Before he took a ride, and went on an official safety check, Ryan had more to smile about -- he's going to Disney World.
"(I can) go on water rides, go on roller coasters, play miniature golf," Ryan said.
The family can't thank the firefighters and Make-A-Wish enough.
"That is medicine and more magic that medicine could be," Joanne Wirtjes said.
"Oh it is a blessing," Ryan's dad, William Wirtjes, said.
Ryan's dad saw this special day as a great family memory in the making.
"The smile on his face -- I haven't seen that quite that big in a while," William Wirtjes said.
The whole family will go to Disney World thanks
